THat's one way to look at it, 1rainbow, but you could also look at it like this... if you think you're "not that lucky", then don't you think you can study and practice and learn, etc... to become more SKILLED at poker... which would help to make up for what you see as lack of luck (lucklacker? lackluster?)
It's possible, right?
And besides, it'd still be fun trying it that way no matter what, I bet!
GOOD LUCK AND GOOD THINKING!

Wow I just took a look at those prizes in the list you posted... I didn't really even see them til now, and WOW! That's a lot of money! And that was what it was back in 1979! So there have been about 25 years of tournaments since then, so you know the prizes have gone way way way up from even those amounts you posted!
I don't know how much they give out nowadays, but it must be incredible!
I guess I never really realized the numbers before - I don't think I do even now...
WOW (again) where does all that money come from????!
Thanks for the info!

Hey, I just noticed that your post was title 1970-2006, but as far as I can see, it only goes up to 1979 -- am I missing something, or is the rest in another post, or...
thanks!

I know exactly what you mean by that, rainbow!
I'm very often glad no one I'm playing can see me sweat!
Does make my heart really race at times... funny thing.
