We Can Now Lock the Door!

Hello, my great PCers!

We have finally almost cleaned out and blocked all the porno pushers and dope pushers (with their fake pills). THANK YOU for all your help!!! I couldn't have kept up with them without your help! It took too much of my time away from you as it was!

In thinking about it this morning, I thought of one more thing we can all do that will lock the door to them for good!

You see, they never completely fill out their profile pages. So if we all fill out ours completely, then I can just go thru daily and ban anyone whose profile page is incomplete! That locks them out!

The only thing is we will have to keep reminding the new members to fill out theirs. I could use your help with that too!

To make sure you know what goes in all the blanks, this is all there is to it:

username
real name
email address - seen only by you and admin
password - seen only by you
Instant Messenger - optional
City, state or region, and Country
Occupation
Your interests - so I can serve you better with contests and activities
Gender
Birthday - so you can get your free PC birthday points, etc.

I really don't think that is too much to ask, do you?

I will wait a few days to give every real member a chance to take care of this business matter, and then we should be free from them at last!!!

why dont you just add all our names to an exclusion list added to whatever software you use?

thats 2008 thinking

I think thats possible

the reason being, as new people sign up, it may be some days before they come back and they come back to a banned account?

just a thought

Also anyone who has not completely filled out their profile will not be a member till it is finished. If it is not completely finished in 10 days their account is deleted. This I am sure Geno could make automatic so you wouldn't have to personally go through all the new accounts.

It could say right on the sign up page you can read but not post any message till their profile is completely filled or their account will be deleted and banned.

That would help maybe?

I think it is already stated somewhere in the rules that members' profiles are supposed to be filled out anyway!

There was actually a discussion some time ago in staff meeting about members' profiles being completed in order to get payment. It will probably come up again sooner or later.

And Char -- LOL, are you telling me that I am behind the times? That "the 2008 way" sounded a little snippy to me! I actually take pride in being pretty well up-to-date and even have a seat in several technology thinktanks. Surprised? LOL! Razz

Ahem. Uh....er.....uh, is there any further discussion needed here? Or does anybody need to get anything off their chest? That is part of being such a close group, you know. We all have to be willing to be one another's sounding boards so we can vent when we need to in order to keep a healthy and free and clear thinking mind! The worst thing we can do, well one of the worst things, is to hold in feelings that we feel a real need to express. Things like that can really hurt your poker playing.

So we have to be very tolerant with and understanding of one another's feelings and the other side of the coin is that we cannot be afraid to say what is on our minds at any given time.

That all equals trust, equals really true friendship, equals unconditional acceptance of one another's good days and bad days both.

That creates healthy mental states and that creates good thinking and that creates poker champs!

And this post has definitely been one of a true Guru's duties.

Poker Guru you lost me on your post up further I just read lol.I was saying that the spammers can read this post and figure out your good idea by reading it and then it would be hard to go through them again but I see the crushers understood as one replied email (i think mirror) and thats what I was refering to.I am not up to times as you are so I was figuring the spammers can read lol......

I understand your point and it would be a good one except that they are so lazy they would never take time to actually read any other threads than the one they all post in.

If they did, they would be posting all thru our forum.

Yes, I suppose they can read, but they sure aren't very good at understanding what we all have posted back to them in that thread! So they don't read very WELL!
