I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THIS THREAD JUST FOR AN OPEN DISCUSSION.

NOT TO JUDGE, BUT TO SUPPORT, AND MOSTLY TO LISTEN.

THIS TIME OF YEAR, IS ESPECIALLY HARD FOR MANY PEOPLE.
FEELINGS OF SADNESS CAN TURN INTO DESPAIR...... SO,

I AM ASKING............ "DO YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT?"

FOR ME....

MY FAMILY IS WHO I CHOOSE TO LOVE, AND
YOU ARE MY FAMILY.

My mom was the biggest holiday,decorator and lover of ALL holidays mostly christmas.your right sometimes holidays can be sad as she died of cancer dec 3,2009 and so christmas last year did not even take place and kinda a blur and this thanksgiving without her was sad and now for her I am trying to tell myself put up a tree and decorate for your children and grandchildren just as she did even after the first year of losing my dad.weird thing is i go to clean and there is another xmas thing in the corner as if she is reminding me.(and i have cleaned that corner many times)I live in her home so all the decorations will definately be a reminder..So I am asking myself am I ready or mabey dodge the kids and grandskids here and head to Oregon for a few days and spend it with my sons family and new grandaughter i never met which would have to be a happy time..It would be the first in 4 years spending it with my sons family which consist of 4 more grandchildren..

IT HAD TO BE HARD, STILL, SHARING HOW YOU FEEL.

I BELIEVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOUR FAMILY, IS ALSO CONFUSED AND SAD, AND WANTING TO EASE YOUR PAIN, SOMEHOW.

SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH THEM. MAYBE TOGETHER, YOU CAN DECIDE IF? OR WHEN? IT FEELS RIGHT?

P.S. I WONDER IF YOUR MOM ISN'T PUSHING IT BECAUSE, SIMPLY, SHE ENJOYS ALL THE LIGHTS AND LOVE THAT FILLS HER HOME EACH YEAR.

I PRAY THAT YOUR PAIN DULLS, AND SMILES FIND YOU AGAIN MY FRIEND.

ty for making a post that allows people to talk about how they are feeling at this time of year patti as although its meant to be a happy time but many feel no happiness only sorrow, like yourself and char have already posted their is many things to be sad about at this time and hopefully as time goes by the pain will ease and happiness will return tho loved ones will never be forgotten

Char - I send you all the positive energy I can...I am so sorry for your loss. but may I say how amazing I think you are to try to figure out the best way to be with and support your family even when you are mourning...it is just a testament to how truly wonderful you are!

I know that many feel the same way Rita (OrangeCrush) and I talked about when they came here-

well im not getting into the depression debate tho must admit ive enough problems i could get into but wont, but patti your words

are so true, there are many people that go to forums to give them something to do and look forward to, theres lots of money etc that gets given away but i know there are a lot of members that tho they enjoy the prizes would still go to the forums even if there were no prizes, i know i would lol,anyway whether people suffer depression or not every person will have days where things will make them feel down no matter how happy they normally are and for anyone that has no close family or friends even sharing bad news in placed like this can be a real boost to them

Hi,
I have been a member of Casino Crush since 2007 and Poker Crush since April. I admit that up until finding the free poker tourney held every Wed, I was a casual visitor looking at the portal section and also reading alot of posts. My brother passed away April 25 of this year and the cause is still unknown- autopsy results not revealed yet. But I must say that it is hard to go to sleep most times mainly because I think of my mom and what she lost!! So I would just like to say that I am grateful for this forum for giving me something to look forward too every week- it helps to break up the boredom and also shows me that there are real people in the world who genuinely care about other people and take the time daily to express that.
So that's my reason for staying and enjoying!

You have my deepest sympathy. I cannot imagine your pain.

For to know that we give you something to look forward to, is so great a feat, words fall short of expressing.

Thank you for feeling comfortable enough here to share your feelings. That is no easy thing.

My wish for you and your mom is to find that peace, God-Willing, sooner than later.
I am keeping you both in my thoughts.

I just came over here after posting on CC to ask for prayers for my brother and his family.

My sister-in-law who was 5 foot and very engergetic and lived her life like a freight train. She never slowed down and had no fear. She developed Alzheimers about a year and a half ago. Just 6 months ago she developed cancer. The treatment for her cancer speeded up the Alzheimers and she suddenly died this last week.

When my brother got married to her everyone in the family didn't give it a year. They were so different. But their marriage was one if not the strongest marriages I have ever seen or witnessed. They really cared and respected each other very much. They were married for 35 years!

My brother is taking this extremely hard and prayers to help him go through this especially at this time of year would be appreciated.

My sister-in-law loved Christmas and went absolutely crazy every year decorating. Every available space was covered with collections of santas, villages, lights, centerpeices. She colloected those 2 foot tall Santas in all different kinds of poses and costumes.

It seems every Christmas season I get bad news. Every year something bad happens during the holidays. I love Christmas but I dread the time it comes. For the last 20 years that I can remember something bad has always happened in the month of December.
