TO MY PCers FROM YOUR GURU

My dear PCers,

My heart is heavy as I write this. I have just entered my Poker-Crush office to post some contests and a lesson, having just returned from a series of poker games on the road. I have to attend a certain number of these events to maintain my standing as a pro, as I'm sure you all understand.

But this is one poker trip I wish I had never taken. I have returned to my favorite place to be, ie, my position as your poker Guru and leader of this forum group, to discover that several of my beloved members are in the midst of crises in their lives! In addition to the ones you know about, who have posted, and to whom you have posted your support and encouragement, there are a few others who are still trying to learn how to share their burdens with fellow members and ask for support by posting. These few have asked for my support and help by way of PMs. Help, not only with their crises, but also with gaining the courage to post their situations so that by sharing with us all, they may gain more strength in their times of grief or need.

So many of my precious flock, whom I wish I could keep under my wing thru all sorts of life situations and not just poker.....so MANY of them suffering things that most of us just dread even thinking about, much less experiencing! So many at one time.....at the same time! It boggles my brain and simply tears at my heart, causing not only pain, but also guilt for not being here for them from the beginning of their dilemmas.

I have been here, without signing in, for hours, just reading all the posts I missed. I am so proud of the support you have given your fellow members! But I wish so much that I had been here, too. I have asked my manager to search very completely, the possibility of my attending only one-nighters. Or at the most, two-nighters. I am hoping, almost beyond hope, that he will find it to be possible.

I most certainly do not feel that my support and/or help would be of any more value than any other member's. I just want it to be there! Among and with the support of other members.

In any case, I hope you have learned that our darling, Char, has made it successfully thru her surgery, altho she will not know if cancer is involved for two more long days. I would imagine very, very long days. In the meantime, she cannot just lie back and rest to recover, but in spite of her post-op pain, she must be on her feet and walk, to prevent the development of pneumonia. I know that in our thoughts, we are all right there, standing by her and walking with her. When you read this, Char, know that you had a crowd on your hands!

I have not yet received an answer from my inquiry to our precious Mojo, so I cannot tell you the condition of her dying father. But I'm sure we can all guess the condition of Mojo, herself, sitting by him. When you reaad this, Mojo, know that you and your Dad were sharing a very crowded room! And when you feel able to return to us, we will be waiting with open arms and quiet understanding.

To those of you whose private messages I have not yet answered, I make you this promise: You have not left my mind since I learned of your ordeal......nor shall you! until it is over and behind you and dealt with to a degree that gives you at least some small comfort.

I know the members among us, who are victims at this time, pretty darn well. Well enough to know that they DO want us to carry on.....to carry Poker-Crush on......to make it a bigger and better forum for them to come back to!

It is in that light only that I am able to continue our activities here.....and I have many activities for us to continue with! Just the beginning is several new cash contests and a new lesson on a new poker topic! If any of you are still in need of PC points, please let me know, and we will also have some way for you to earn more of them as well.

At this time, I would like to finish reading all the posts I have missed, and respond, if called for. I hope that before the night is over, I will have some contests posted as well. I probably will not get the new lesson started for a day or so, but it will be as soon as possible. I have cancelled all upcoming poker games until further notice.

As someone famous once said, my PCers, we shall "all hang together" and NO ONE shall be allowed to hang alone. I really murdered that quotation, didn't I, my friends? But somehow, I have a feeling that you care about as much as I do! LMBO!

I will be seeing you in the posts and in my dreams, and I shall remain

You have such a big heart Guru, that I wonder if you are a real person ...
and if you are why can`t we clone you and make all people like you !

PokerGuru Thank you your word meant so much to me knowing that you care about us all so much . Your heart should be eased from some pain now that we all know Char had her surgery and is now we hope to a good recovery and that she dose not have cancer . I have learned from my first day here that all these members are all so kind and caring . I hope I can stay as a part of your close knit family . I love all your words you had placed in your post . It got to my heart so fast . I know now if I ever needed a friend you would be there . Thank you . I pray for all our blessed members in there need to be granted . I feel you have done a wonderful job here Thank you . I could keep going on and on but I won't , I do want to thank your staff for being there fo us all too .

My dear PCers, my friends,

All your sincere words have now got to ME! I have a big lump in my throat as I write this.

When I first accepted the responsibility for this forum, I had no idea what was being placed in my hands! And I certainly had no idea about what it would become!

Now, oh my goodness....now. What a huge difference in my life! My PCers here, the truly greatest group of people I have ever been associated with, have changed my life so much for the better that I believe it would amount to at least a 95 degree turnaround! I can honestly say that I find myself rushing thru everything else just so I can get to my favorite little world within a world, my special folks among all folks, and my most rewarding source of true happiness.

Never did I or would I have dreamed that taking on a job....any job....could mean choosing the right road to fulfillment of all my needs and my greatest source of happiness. I have never had a more rewarding life in all my years on this earth. YOU, my friends, are my reward!

You make up for everything bad that ever happens to me and makes it seem like nothing. What we are doing together here...and I still cannot quite put my finger on what it is....but whatever we are building together here is a thing of great importance that I cannot help but believe will, in the long run, involve far more people in this world than just us!

It is almost like we are on a mission....a great quest....and just the right kind of people make up tha word "us". When someone new joins us, if they were led to us by fate, they will soon feel it and become a natural and comfortable and happy part of us....and pridefully so.

If they wandered into us by accident, or by looking for something for nothing, they will soon know that they have come to the wrong place. They will feel very uncomfortable with us, not understand us at all, and they will stop coming back. Those are the ones I do not follow up on. It was not meant to be for them.

PCers, with moist eyes, I feel myself getting carried away again, so I shall stop right here in my tracks, because I have substantial work to do for you and too little time to do it.

Just let me end this monologue by saying to each and every one of you who have come.....and have remained.....that I receive far more from you than I could ever hope to give. For that....and for all that I cannot give voice to....I THANK YOU!

Guru and Poker Crushers

Sad to say I lost my Father Thursday Oct 18th at 8:10 in the morning.
Trying real hard to be strong for my dear dear mother right now.For she lost her companion and soul mate of 50yrs.
(2 weeks ago was there 50th wedding anniversary)
I've never felt this kind of emptiness in my heart that has tearfuls of pain.
He was my Dad but he was also my very best friend.

Thank you for you concern, your thoughts and all your prayers!!

I wrote this poem for my father, the day he passed away...

When you came home
to spend your last days,
I was there to comfort you
in every which way.

Help you to stand
help you to bed,
would help you to sit up
when time to be fed.

As your days would go by so quickly
the more attention you needed in care,
with any little grunt or even a cough
I made sure I was always right there.

Hurt me so bad to see that
you had no strength to walk,
hurt me even more
when you got to weak to even talk.

When I seen that you were helpless
with no noise or even a grin,
I knew I lost my Father
and also my BEST FRIEND.

Oh mojo I am so incredibly sorry my heart goes out to youhun and I will be praying that god heals you and gives you the strength you will need in the coming days, weeks and with tears in my eyes I say years as i lost my father a yr and half ago to a sudden illness, stay strong (((HUGS)))

I am so sorry for your loss mojo but where he is now there is no more pain. I am glad you were able to be by his side his last days, painful that it was, I am sure he knew and was comforted by your love. You were able to say good-bye and show your love for him every second you were with him. That part must give you comfort in a small way from your big loss. I wish I was by my mother in the hospital when she passed away but I was 30 minutes too late getting there.

Your pain and loss is felt by all of us as you are a part of our family too.
No words of comfort can be expressed by me that can ease the loss but know that we care.

I am so glad you were able to express your true feelings to us, your family in cyberspace, and your family who care more, for sure, than you realize about your sorrow.

Your poem was beautiful, and said more than the sum of its words. I feel sure your father has seen those words on paper by now! And can smile again! Be happy for him. Hurt only for your own huge loss.

You know, Mojo, having a cyber family....that is, a family in the airwaves of cyberspace, means that we can be in the air all around you, any time you need us! Sort of like angels, huh?
