(Continuation from last month...)

THE LATE STAGE STRATEGY OF A "SIT AND GO"

Later in the tournament, almost all the action will occur preflop. At this point in time, you will generally be in one of three situations:

1.You have a short stack.
-You can only afford about 5 big blinds at the level, and those big blinds are just gonna get more expensive. The worst thing to do is to blind yourself to death. Stealing the blinds means a lot to you at this point, and the last thing you want to do is see a flop for half your stack and fold. Consider going all-in with Ace and a high card, or any pair preflop (provided another person hasn't bet for a lot already). In late position, you should consider just going all-in with two cards of ten or higher if no one has entered the pot. You want enough chips to survive and get into at least third place.

2.You have a medium stack.
-Try to accumulate chips slowly, avoid a big confrontation unless you clearly have the best of it. Your goal should still be to win the tournament, not to just place. After all, winning one is better than placing third in two single-table tournaments.

3.You have a large stack.
-If you are clearly one of the chip leaders at the table, you should use your power to bully other players around. For example, if you have 8,000 chips and other players have around 2,000 chips with blinds of 200-400, you should very aggressively steal blinds. Don't be stupid, but be aggressive. Opponents will be scared to call you because they will be trying to sneak into the money. Solidify your position and aim to win the tournament.

Everyone please do COMMENT about this strategy for entry in a random draw.
1 x $30 Cash and you just might get some valuable PC points too.

In a low stack position, i also consider the number of players calling the blinds or bets. If there is a chance that I could triple, quadruple up or more, I would play connector hands or suited pockets. A victory here would easliy put me back in the game together with the medium or large stacks. There was one tournament I had lost two major hands leaving me with only 100 chips left meanwhile the other players at my table had stacks well into 6 digits (100000 or more). Believe it or not I came back and went all the way to become top of the leaderboard with the largest stack in the tournament. I ended up placing 11th, still making it to the money but for me 11th place was a victory considering I would have placed in 74th had I given up.

Pretty much right on the money. To give myself a realistic chance of winning though, I'd start shoving with around 10 BB left.

I have been down to maybe a hundred chips to come back to win in first place. It's hard but if you play smart you can do it. Of course some days the cards just don't hit at all.

I play badly I suppose as I don't follow the rules all the time. I have never had some poker rules stick in my head mainly where I am from the dealer.

I have been blinded to death when I just couldn't seem to hit anthing to play but sometimes you just have to go for the throat to save your stack. If you can't get a good hand BLUFF if there is no option to getting some of it back and your dying by blinds. It seems to work if you have been passive saving your bets for those good hands and suddenly turn aggressive. Not always but once in awhile I pull this LOL It has worked more than not Smile

This rarely works for me.... lately when I think I have a pretty good hand and bet accordingly.... at least one person stays with me and has a better hand!!! But I still try to bluff when I can.... sometimes with better success!!

With a low stack it would be hard for me to think that I still had a chance, so I might give up and do something stupid. Having a large stack would probably work out really well for me. I would be confident enough to be more agressive without going to far because I'm not an aggressive player.

I appreciate all of the information that I get here. The biggest things for me to tackle is being nervous and lacking in confidence. When I get through all of that.......I really hope that I can remember all (or some) of the suggestions that I have picked up here.

I think i would just swing it.that's the way i play, lol.but it sounds like the right way to go what you said, but knowing me it all depends on the cards.am always thinking that people are bluffing lately and i need to quit that.
