Dear Bower,
I am very glad to help you with this. It's a big part of why I am here.
A freezeout is simply an elimination tournament of any kind, where the last guy left after everybody else has been defeated is the winner.
The term is not used much anymore, but it used to be used a lot.
Hope this helps you, my good and loyal friend.

I've probably just been up too long, but I'm afraid it's still not clear to me....
so what distinguishes a freezeout tournament from any other tournament?
I THINK that's the way all the ones I play work, the way you described. Since I've been that "one guy left standing" at the end only a couple times, (out of many many many many freerolls!), I may have forgotten, but I think that sounds like the way they always go.
Was that a confusing question?
thanks for sharing any further insight you may have!

A tournament format in which the loss of all of one's chips permanently eliminates a player from the tournament |

well in most tourneys they pay by the places you finish... like 5th place 4th place 3rd place etc. In a Freezeout the only one paid is the Winner. So last man standing gets all the cash.. no places paid.
I hope this helps At least it is my understanding of a Freezeout |

i've played freezeouts where there is more than one winner...matter of fact most of them have more than one winner if it's forum games, that way more ppl can win some $$ to play in their buyins, freezeout basically means no rebuys a few forums have been playing rebuy freerolls, which i think is ridiculous |

LOL! Now PCers know why it is not used much anymore!
I hope none of you were TOO frustrated because I laughed out loud reading your thoughts as you struggled to get it figured out perfectly.
Rest assured you did as good a job as anyone else ever has!
Let's try looking at it this way: Just substitute the word "eliminating" for "freezing out" and you've got it. ANY kind of eliminating.
You sure have become the kind of thinkers who don't overlook a single detail. Good job.
You reminded me of a little group of college professors trying to define the difference between a short test and a long quiz. LOL

Rainbow, we are in complete agreement. But then, every line of work or endeavor does seem to have its own jargon.

I have no problem with that.
My advice is only suggestions, which you are free to take to heart or take to trash can. They are all based on my own experience as a pro and all I have learned along the way.
My only desire is for you to keep getting better and making more and more money as you do. I am very much aware that my advice is only one way of many ways to get better. Even if I personally believe it is the quickest way. LOL
And I also hope with all my heart that your trip to making good money regularly is not as long and hard as mine was!
Love you, Rainbow, and all my PCers!
