Hi my Poker Crush'ems!
This contest is easy. All you have to do is tell me what you think of a certain idea.
I been thinking. (Why is everybody ducking? LOL!)
What if........
If I could arrange with some poker site for us to have our own private table ..... to play just with one another and any guests that any member might want to invite .... for very small amounts of money.....
Well, would you play? And what do you think of that whole idea? Let's discuss it here in this thread.
Then, at the end of the month, I will draw a name from among those who participated in the discussion here.....and that persom will win a cash prize of $30.
That's it. Pure and simple.
I mean, if you all lived close together, don't you think evrybody would want to get together and play some poker? This would be pretty much the same thing. As close as we could come to it.
Sooooo .......
Usual rules for a cash contest. You have them memorized by now, but if in doubt, let me know. Gotta redeem 3000 PC points and we have to know where to send the money. One of the online places we use.
Okay, now. Let's give this some serious thought here. Think of everything you can for and against it.
And good luck in the drawing on the 30th.

I think it's a great idea.I'd love to play at a rake table with other PCers.
We could post or pm each other and discuss times each person would be able to play at Chat time. |

Poker Guru that would be a wonderful idea and also it would give a few of the Crushers that want to learn a chance without feeling embarrased and able to ask questions at the tables that they normally wouldnt to strangers to learn to become a good poker player |

I think it would be a great idea for our veteran PC'ers but also a fabulous idea for our NEW PC'ers. That way they could get their feet wet and learn without being totally intimidated with strangers. (Of course if Bower or alight are there they will get intimdated by their playing anyway LOL)
If we had our own table we could have Newbie nights (freerolls) for the new players to poker tournaments so they can get the feel of poker, as well as great competition for our veterans to sharpen their poker skills and win cash.
I think it would be great to have both freerolls and pay to play times for all groups.
Good idea! |

I like valeria's idea of the freerolls for newbies. I know marlene would like that, as she is at the moment very confused about how to bet and raise. |

I think it's a very good idea. We could play together, and perhaps discuss the game afterwards. |

Maybe we could have a handicap night, where all the good players have to babysit all their children, grandchildren, and all their nieces and nephews while they play.
Oh, and the very best player has to wear a blindfold.

Hey Everybody!
We have another comedian among us! If you haven't yet, you can get a taste of her humor and funny bone in the post just above mine and oj's here!
We love comedy here, Scoo! We all certainly do love to laugh, even if sometimes we are the butt of the joke. SOMEBODY has to be! LOL!
Hope that you are well-entertained here as well!

I am just starting at getting into poker and It sounds like a GREAT idea. I would be so much more comfortable playing with people that I know (I know alot of you from CC. On there I am gjr1961. I thought we had to have a different name ) For some reason I am really nervous about about playing poker and this would be a way for me to ease into the game. |

Dear grandglor aka gjr1961 aka Gloria,
I am so glad to find out it is YOU! Because I have been hearing such nice things about you from my fellow staff members, OC and RC.
RC also goes by a different name here as a regular member -- royalblush.
So let me welcome you with an extra-special and very warm welcome!
I also want to tell you that there is no reason in the world for you to be nervous about getting into poker. We have members here who have not yet played even one game -- and they are just as valuable to us as any other member.
I try, in my lessons, to offer meaningful tips to beginners and all the way up to advanced players (which I bet you will be someday!).
I have said before, and I mean it, nobody gets in a hurry around here, so take all the time you need to ease into playing poker.
My suggestion is that you go back and read all the lessons I have posted here, taking notes as you go, and starting by beginning dates up to present times in order. Go slowly, but by the time you are up to date with the rest, guess what you will already be???? A real poker player ....and a good one!!!
I, personally, am a very easygoing person, as any member will tell you. I sometimes am late in getting things done here, but I don't have to worry about it because my greater than great members accept me as I am....in the same way I accept each of you as the individual you are, different from any other, but with a lot in common!
So....once again, welcome! Make yourself right at home. You are a full member the first day you join if your heart is in the right place, as yours is! Kick off your shoes, cuddle up in an easy chair with our forum pages, and get to know both us and poker!
My very best to you!!!
Your Guru |
