omaha hi-lo

okay maybe im just slow (or like my mom tells me "special") but i dont understand the hi-lo part i know how the game itself works but the hi-lo just has me Evil or Very Mad

anyone that has the concept down that might be able to understand it ?

I am not sure what part you are confused on but with omaha the hi is the 5 highest poker hand and 2 are in your hand and you can use 3 on the board and then with lo it is the 5 lowest cards being 8 and under and again 2 lo in your hand and 3 lo on the board.the lowest hand being ace thru 5 as there is not any lower.Did that help?If not ask and I will try to help.

Lo is 8 & under.....BUT what confused me was the player who wins LOW
It's NOT who has the lowest sequential OPENER--- BUT the one who has the lowest-Hi card

Out of these 2 hands...
A-2-3-6-8
A-4-5-6-7 << This Hand is the $$$ Money Taker

One more thing.....What kills my bankroll<& many others> is thinking you got low in the bag so you'll split it...but then 3 ppl have lo so you lose 2/3 of your bet!!!!

oooohhhh i think i have it now ive had lets just say A 5 K 10 and the board is k 10 5 J id have 2 pairs but not low cause my low is A 5 if someone has a 2 they are low if all thier cards are under 8
thats where i was lost now i know i lose so many omaha games thinking i have an ace that makes me low man
thanks soooooo much char im not bad at holdem but omaha hilo was kicking my can now i can try one and not think "oh well im dead in the water"

OJ now that makes me think where i lost so many times i always thought the first hand would win but now i see the 7 is lower than 8 even tho others were higher sheeeeesh that makes alot of sence to me now (told ya'll i was special) thanks for your help as i told char thats what we are here for and im very happy to be part of this place

your very welcome shawn and lets clarify the low.....There has to be 2 low cards in your hand 8 and lower and 3 low cards on the table 8 and lower and not paired with the 2 in your hand.....
