Rainbow posted this message especially to me when I was feeling really down and out and thought I would share this with you all. This was posted on July 17 2008 when my husband and I were seperated due to his alcoholism but I am happy to announce that he has been sober for 6 months tomorrow, this is by the grace of God and many prayers from family , friends, PC'ers and CC'ers. I wanted to share this so that if anyone eelse is having a bad time to reflect on this. I still shed a tear everytime I read it. Thank you Rainbow for all your inspiration that you send each day.

A good woman is proud of herself, she respects herself and others. She is aware of who she is. She neither seeks definition from the person she is with, nor does she expect them to read her mind. She is quite capable of articulating her needs.
A good woman is hopeful. She is strong enough to make all her dreams come true. She knows love, therefore she gives love. She recognizes that her love has great value and must be reciprocated. If her love is taken for granted, it soon disappears.
A good woman has a dash of inspiration, a dabble of endurance. She knows that she will, at times, have to inspire others to reach the potential God gave them.
A good woman knows her past, understands her present and moves toward the future.
A good woman knows God. She knows that with God the world is her playground, but without God she will just be played.
A good woman does not live in fear of the future because of her past. Instead, she understands that her life experiences are merely lessons, meant to bring her closer to self knowledge and unconditional self love.

And I cannot stress enough of a CONGRATULATIONS for 6 mo. sober.
I have no idea how hard it must be, for you both. AWESOME Feat!

so sorry to read all that sharon but i know how hard it is too be down and having so many problems( lol you can probably tell not been at my happiest for a while but different point)...glad rainbow gave you that lovely post to cheer you up... hope now you can look to future as 6 months is great and long may it continue as it will always be a battle but with luck effort and love for each other im sure he will continue to stay sober and you can look to a better future ahead....good luck shaz you deserve a bit of happiness xx paul

i am so happy to see that you are diong so well & so proud of your hubby, thank you so much for sharing your story as all your stories help me also, i will keep you in my prayers as well as all PCERS & CCERS Smile

congradulations to your husband sharon.am glad the poem helped you.my dad drank every weekend while i was growing up and it's hard dealing with them.I hope you and your husband are sober the rest of your lifes.tc
