How fun to play without any "wankers"! Means a lot more to win when it's all quality players. At the risk of pissing Guru off, a little (or a lot) of luck helps too. Congrats to top 5 and look forward to playing September 20th where we will have to watch out for other forums who, I'm sure, have plenty of "wankers". |

I play with a coupla other forums Al and they have mostly good players.
I wouldn't play with them if they weren't.One of them is Bee's Pavilion.
This tournie coming is usually very satisfying to play in.
By the way Mel's ghost qualified and either Spook or Linnie will be playing under her name. |

Thank you, Bower! How gracious of you to post the screenshot!
Al - Your reference to luck would indeed piss me off except that I know that PCers know that in any given time period absolutely every player gets the exact same amount of it!!!
Besides, it's the knowledge of knowing what to do with it that counts!
That's the difference between my students and all others!
So.......point is I have no reason to get pissed off. You all have enough knowledge to understand Luck's role!
The thing that DOES occassionally upset me is when a PCer who knows better starts playing over-aggressively and knowing it is eventually going to lead to their downfall.......which it always does. That is so sad for me to watch.
Great tournament, everybody! There was not a one of you who disappointed me.
But there were many of you who pleased me greatly with your playing, no matter where you ended up. You are the ones whose turn is coming!
Your impressed Guru |

Sufficiently admonshed, Guru. You are right as usual. Had tons of bad beats a week ago....now my hands are holding up and even a rare suckout now and then. But I try to pride myself on getting in with the best hand and am upset when I didn't, even when i do suckout. But I guess that's why you want outs...just in case you're wrong. |

Al, we ALL continue to learn.
It is only human to question now and then, and I expect it and am never upset by it. As long, of course, that it is not accompanied with rudeness. Rudeness is something that disappeared and vanished from the makeup of any and all true Poker Crushers a long time ago. It can never be anything but destructive. And we are in the business of building up, not tearing down.
Al, I have to take this opportunity to tell you that I truly respect so much the way you so graciously accept and learn from gentle constructive criticism from me. Or. as you call it, admonishment.
Be assured, I need only 2 or 3 fingers to count all the times it is necessary with a great and intelligent student like you.
I am so proud of the consistent way you are getting better and better as the weeks and months go by! I respect most those who, no matter how good, are never too proud to listen, knowing they can always be even better!
I said in some previous lesson that egos must be left at the door when entering a virtual classroom for a lesson, because there is just no room for them in poker education. Then when they are reclaimed on the way out, they are almost always more secure. You, my gracious friend, are a perfect demo in action of this principle. Thinks for being a living teaching tool for me! LOL!
Your appreciative and admiring Guru |
