Donâ€™t go into a game if youâ€™re headâ€™s not in the right place.

If youâ€™ve been drinking, doing drugs, just had a fight with your wife, or are
having a very stressful day, then donâ€™t play poker that day.

Making money in poker is just like making money in any other job. You
donâ€™t show up to work drunk, so donâ€™t drink while playing poker.

Professionals lick their chops when they see a drunk tourist sit at their poker table. If youâ€™re head is not
in the right place and youâ€™re distracted, you will not play your best. You will make mistakes.
Maybe little ones at first, but this can snowball into multiple mistakes, and can lead straight to tilt.
Losing buy in after buy in, making stupid calls, and basically just throwing money to the other players.

Again, always make sure you are in the right frame of mind when you hit the poker tables. Remember you need to think to win, consistently!

EVERYONE POSTING THEIR OPINION WILL BE IN A RANDOM DRAW FOR PRIZES.

Terms For Cash Prizes

You need a combined Forums total of $20 in order to be PAID.
(Poker Crush, Casino Crush, & Bingo Crush Prizes)

I only play buy in tourneys if I;m feeling the mood to play. But I'm with win4maw and really need a lot of luck.

You will need luck too. That is in addition to being mentally sharp. In live tournies, sometimes I will "bluff" that I'm consuming alcohol. I've won a few big pots that way. Unwise to do so, I know, just a different type of distraction. Only if I'm short-stacked and card dead...

I think that is excellent advise. There is a lot to think about and remember when playing. I have difficulties doing this with a clear mind, I can't imagine what anything mood altering or distractions would do to my playing ability. Certainly, it would make matters worse.

I agree. However, I will play some slots while Im drunk. I have had some of my best wins that way. Poker though, thats a no no.
