Hello Poker Scholars, both new and my oldies!

Before you start reading (and I hope studying) this lesson, I request that you first and immediately before this lesson, go back and read my first post on this page:

https://www.poker-crush.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=17988#17988

Okay! I assume now that you have gone back and read it.

In this first lesson of the fourth year of Poker School (Don't worry, beginners -- it is one of those you can take ANY time, even at the beginning of your studies!), in this first 4th year lesson, I want to make sure you understand 2 main concepts.

The lesson is titled "Creation of a Champion". The first concept is this: Don't ever think, on your way to becoming a poker champion, that I, Poker Guru, am creating a champion! That is as far from the truth as the statement "Poker is all luck" is! Just NOT true!

Only YOU can create a champion out of yourself! My place is merely to guide you, to inform you of things you otherwise would have no source to get, to give you the benefit of knowing ahead of time the pitfalls that I fell into when I was at your present stage - so that you will know how to avoid them, to give you confidential tips and strategies that I have tested so thoroughly I can guarentee them, to enlighten you to methods that have worked for me and are still working that nobody else knows about, to make sure you understand the basic and always-true rules and facts of poker, to give you odds and percentages as I have figured them out for myself and still use, to share with you my tips and tricks for handling problem opponents, to explain anything you don't understand, to answer your questions, to check out and find safe sites for you to play at while you are learning, to comfort you when you are down and self-doubting (without lying to you or giving you false hope), to congratulate and encourage you when you are doing well, to make the learning of playing winning poker as easy and as much fun for you as I can, to sneak lessons in on you when you don't even recognize them as lessons, to defend you against anybody and anything that would take advantage of you, to help you stay relaxed about learning because that is the only way it will become second nature to you, to make arrangements with poker sites that allow me to watch you play so I can PM you with progress reports about how you are doing and offer special help, to provide you with a very realistic field of view of the gambling industry as a whole, to help you find your place in it, and simply to ALWAYS "be there" for you.

To learn enough to become a champion.........that is all up to you!

Some will have to study what I put out there more closely than others.....because in spite of the fact that we have always heard about everybody being equal -- realistically we know that is just not true! Not when one person can master something after one reading and and another person has to take notes and study them carefully to learn!

But one thing you can be sure of: No matter who you are or how old or if you have never even heard of poker.....You CAN learn well enough to become A CHAMPION!

In other words, if you had enough common sense and intelligence to know how to sign up to become a memberof a forum - then you have enough common sense and intelligence to become a true poker champion!

Butts have been kicked over forgetting that!

Those who can do what I say or request WILL become winning players.

But to become a true CHAMPION, you have to study and then go out there and practice what you have studied! Coming back to ask questions when you need to.

About asking questions..... the only dumb question is the one that goes unasked.

Also, poker class has no place for ego, so please check yours at the door. When you retrieve it after class, you will see that it has grown as if by magic! But don't bring it in with you! Believe me, it is an obstacle to learning!

If you have read all this so far and if it makes sense to you, then you are well on your way to creating a poker CHAMPION out of yourself! IF you remember it and are willing to practice, practice, practice. Then I can GUARANTEE you SUCCESS!

I worked and studied long and hard to become a champion myself. I had some help from aGuru or two, but very little. Nevertheless, I would hate not to be able to have the pride of knowing I made it myself.

Therefore, I would NEVER deprive you of that same pride by pretending to have made a champion out of you. YOU did it or will DO it, and no one should EVER deprive you of the credit for that great accomplishment!

That just about covers the first of the two concepts.

Now I am torn between going on to Number Two or waiting a day or so to make sure what I have said so far sinks in. AND to get your feedback, which helps me tremendously in creating my lesson plans.

I think I will end here, hear what you think, and bring out the other point in a day or two.

Think good and think success! I know you all well enough to know you have what it takes!

Your Poker Guru

The concept "Creating a Champion" is a realistic goal for all of us with your excellent guidance Guru.As you say the rules and factors of poker never change so learn them and the rest is practice, patience, practice, patience.
You are father Poker to us with the care and guidance you give us to keep us out of trouble.
The "common sense" you talk about is a big part of our "Great Thinking" code.
We are champions just by trying to apply all the advice you give us.Some may achieve more but the others are no less champions in their own right.

What an excellent idea, Char!

Will save a LOT of time when you need to look up something.

Also, they will be handy to give a quick lookover just before playing any game. Many members have told me that helps their play a lot.

Now we know one of Char's secrets for being so successful that she is now playing in buy-ins instead of freerolls!

My dear PCers,

I must apologize to you for taking longer than I had intended to get the second part of this lesson to you.

I will make every attempt to make the time to find the right words for it today.

Also, don't forget, tonight is Chat night, and the $50 winner will be decided then!

Your Guru
