I WON! FINALLY! NOT POKER, BUT SLOTS. I WON...er... A LOT!

BIG BIG BIG NEWS! I won a whole bunch of money playing slots yesterday at one of our local Indian casinos!

I only went because I'd gotten a coupon in the mail from them for some free money. They do that every month if you have a players' club card (send free coupons).

This month, they'd sent me one for a free $7 to play on a slot machine, so
that's all I had when I went there, $7!

And it's a long drive out there, over a half an hour to get there from where I live, so there was really no sense in my even going out there if that was all I had... but I didn't have anything better to do, so I did it anyway,

And I'm so glad I did!

I was playing this slot machine, and all of a sudden, 3 symbols lined up, and I looked up and it was the very top one on the pay table!

Then it started respinning - you know how some of them do that as a bonus? Give you free spins when you hit a winning combination?

So it respins and lines up the same 3 symbols AGAIN!

And then it spun AGAIN and did the same thing and then AGAIN and I don't know how many more times, it just kept going and going and finally, it finished and

it was $6000!

SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS!

Oh wow I still can't believe it!

They paid me in my hand in hundred dollar bills!

What am I gonna do with it? I know a lot of things that I'll do, but I need to figure this out! That's a.... lot.... of ... money.

So far, all I've done is go to the grocery store on my way home from there yesterday and filled up a basket. Cupboards are full!

By the way, my brother happens to work there in that casino... he was working as a pit boss behind the blackjack tables until just the other day, and guess what he's doing now!? Dealing poker!

I haven't had a chance to ask him about it yet, but my mom says he likes it. Thought you might find that interesting too!

So, anyway, that's my big news! If anyone wants to tell me what I ought to do with some of those winnings, feel free! I need advice! Or it'll all go real quick right back in the casino!

Seems like everyone I know has hit at least one jackpot, and I've never won anything out here, except one time, I did get a royal flush, only a few months ago. I had it on dimes tho, so it was $400, which I still thought was a lot then, but now... wow wow wow wow !!!

wow wow sunspun,way to go . it could not happen to a nicer person and I hope you find something that you need or want to spend part of it on and then before christmas is perfect timing to get a jackpot. have fun with your winnings Very Happy

oh my goodness thats so great i hope i have big huge win like that someday that must have been so much fun congratulations!! make sure you buy yourself something youve always wanted but couldnt afford and keep on winning!!!

Congratulations!!!!

Now I have to give my Motherly advice LOL

First of all put 1/3 of it aside (in savings for a rainy day).. take another 1/3 (that's about $2000) and pay off any BIG outstanding debts.. or even get ahead on a couple. That leaves you $2000 for Christmas, to gamble, to have fun with.. that's a LOT...

And after the excitement wears off you will still have $2000 sitting in the bank Smile

It is sooooooooo easy to fritter it away with a little here and a little there and end up with nothing.

I am sooooooooo happy for you!! GO GET SOME MORE!! hehehe

CONGRATULATIONS, Baby!

Val's words of advice were EXCELLENT!

I would add only 3 things:

......1) Be sure you and hubby have good med insurance

......2) Don't let ANYONE make you feel guilty for not sharing --NO ONE!

......3) If so inclined, maybe $100 or so to the animal shelter for food.

Again, honey, IT IS ALL YOURS! ENJOY!

Who could suffer emotionally at a time like this!

If I didn't care so much for you, sunspun, I would almost feel like spanking you, as well as punishing myself some way! How can you possibly think that I could care for the happiness of one of my Poker Crushers more than I could for any other!!!!
