I am not very good at this stuff lately so I would probably call with having a pocket pair |

If I had pocket 10's I would call a reasonable bet, but not raise and not bet too much until the first three cards had been flipped up, then I would go on from there depending on what those cards were. |

I would look at all options of course,1)I usually win with pocket 10's more so then with pocket rockets,Just my luck I guess,I have beaten AA with 10/10 a few occasions,Always seem to pull the trips. So I would go for it!! |

Now that I read your post, I think I will just print it out and keep it handy...I have burned myself with pocket 10s late in a tourney after what seemed like endless ace-junk, king-junk hands. I guess I just get impatient...I want them to be a better hand than they are. They have come through for me, but clearly that was luck...anyone with a face card has better odds of pairing than the 10s have of becoming trips. I usually just cant figure out how to pay low/middle pairs and try to limp in to see the flop. I think my betting is my weakest point in poker, but I am trying to work on it. |

coincidentally i recently was dealt pocket 10s in a tournament...i was average stacked and in middle position...early positions had folded...and so raised 3/4 of my stack (significantly more than the big blind)...in hopes to take the blinds...all folded except for the big blind (also the chipleader of the tournament) who calls...the flop shows a 9 5 6...BB goes all-in...I call...cards are shown...pocket 10 for me....and a 9 7 off suit for the BB...LOL! as soon as I saw what he called with...i felt it coming..and sure enough it did...turn draws a 7! river...i forgot....but don't matter...i'm ousted with pocket 10s losing to a 9-7 off suit calling a significant raise pre-flop...LOL! (see what happens when i can't find my mojo) |

Thats exactly what i was talking about in another thread about best hands not holding up as much online as they do in live games, but i think alot of the reason for this is that online, people will play things that normally they wouldn't do in a live tournament where people can make fun of him or her for playing or calling with such ridiculous hands.
There is no repercussions for people doing it online, as they can just turn off chat if someone bitches too much lol
Also, another factor could be that RNG's aren't so random, thats still debatable at times, but think about it, pokerrooms are trying to make money, what better way for peeps to catch a big hand against an opponent holding the only 2 cards that could beat it, making for a big pot, or in the late stages, hurrying the tournament up as to where it seems the big stacks catch every card and chipleaders seem to win 85% of every hand they play.
These are just theories, no proven truth behind my statements, but they are pretty coincidental aren't they? |

absolutely - the cards "coincidentally" favour the big stack; another "coincidence" to keep an eye out for that is also favoured seats, not the player - the seat. |

well gloria glad the win has cheered you up...people seem to forget even the small things in life are enough to give someone a lift...and the fact your win has cheered you up so much is great and makes everyone else feel better |
