Hi to my PCers!
I am already running late. I spent all day in negotiations, trying to get some freerolls set up exclusively for us. More about that later.
So let's get these contests rolling!
Most poker players need a relaxing hobby, because poker is, well, it has its share of tension. Many of us turn to fishing.
For a chance to win $30, choose one of the 3 following choices and tell us about it!
A) If you fish, tell us about your best fishing experience!
B) If you do not, but you know someone who does fish, tell us about one of their fishing experiences.
C) This is maybe the same, but maybe not, as choice A: Make up a fishing story, LOL, of a fishing experience you had! Make it as good as you wish, since we know it's a lie, LMBO! or as bad as you wish!
That's all.
Deadline: last day of the month.
Remember: You must have 3000 PC points to redeem for your cash if you win. If you do not have 3000, you will receive the 3000 PC points in lieu of the cash, so you will have them next time you win.
Remember: If you win and live in the USA, you must PM Geno, if you have not already (only once is necessary) and give him youe QuickTender account number. Everybody, no matter where you live, must have an online banking site that we also use, so we will have a place to send your money to you!
Remember: Instead of the cash, if you win, you may choose Crusher merchandise of an equal value. Find our Crusher store in the dark red area at the top of every page and have fun browsing thru it. I can usually be found around my house, wearing Crusher tee shirts or sweatshirts and drinking from a Crusher mug or stein. The quality of the merchandise is superior!
Winners will be chosen at complete and total blind random, so every entrant has a chance of winning. (If people start slacking off in the quality of their entries, just to get something entered, that practice will change and only the entry judged the best will win!) (Yes, the Guru has to run a tight ship, in order to assure fairness to all.)
Okay, time to tell your tale! Good writing to all! GO! |

Ok now 2 posts in a row gonna make me cry this is suppose to be how I get my mind off the stuff that does that
I have always fished Dad taught me and took me often to fish in lakes rivers, and I have done some deep sea fishing But 1 of my favorite times fishing was when I was a kid Dad took my brother, sister and me to Lake cachuma not a great fishing lake by the way but it was ok considering we were kids anyway the day we arrived for a week long camping/fishing trip it poured and it poured rain.Dad didn't let a little rain stop him. we went out on the boat pouring down rain fished til we were all soaked to the skin when we got back to camp there was a not from mom saying she went to get motel rooms and would be back to get us. To make a long story short, by the time mom got back dad had built a fire pit in the middle of our gigantic tree room tent and had dinner ready (fish of course) mom went to the hotel with lil sis but bill and I stayed with Dad The Rain never did stop and we just kept on fishing some of the best fishing as far as quantity I can recall in my life. I had a great dad I think he always seemed to take lifes lemons and made lemonade |

I love to fish and am always the first in the water and the last to reel in my line.
Once I was fishing in a very fast creek. It had some nice deep holes to fish for those "big ones". It was a very rocky bottom so you had to reel in fast if you didn't want the current to get your line caught in the rocks.
I had my line filled with tasty morsels (everyone always give me a bad time about all the junk I put on my hooks LOL) and threw in my line trying to hit a nice deep hole. After a few minutes I was reeling in my line and my hook kept getting caught on the rocks. So I was reeling in pretty fast and kept feeling this big tug. When the line was almost to shore I gave a big yank to pull the line out of the water.
Up came my line and right behind hit was this huge brown trout. It's mouth looked huge as it was wide open as it was chasing my line. Out of the water flew my line and the fish which landed right at my feet!
I was so shocked I just stood there and looked at this monster fish I had "reeled in" without it ever catching my hook. I was so stunned I watched it till it flopped itself back in the water. It really was a big natural brown trout.
Several days later, in the newspaper, a woman was fishing in the same spot and guess what. She caught a record size brown trout. I just KNOW it was the same fish I had landed without ever really catching it! LOL Now that would have been a story for the newspapers.
Another time I was learning to fly fish. As I carefully watched my fly land on the water right where I wanted it to land a head came up out of the water the same time my fly landed. I screamed and the beaver slapped it's tail and dove under water. I had landed the fly tight on the tip of his nose. ROFL
One more then I will give someone else a chance hehehe
I was fishing down a steep bank sitting on a rock. I was there for awhile and kept hearing this "rustling" sound. I kept looking around trying to see what was making this noise. I figured it was some kind of animal in the bushes.
My husband came down to fetch me as it was time to go home (he always had to hunt me down hahah) and I was packing up my gear. Then my husband about freaked and told me to hurry up! As he was climbing down the hill to make me hurry he pointed to the side. I looked over and there was a HUGE HUGE ball of snakes writhering around. I mean this ball of snakes had to be at least 4 feet around or more! All wound up together. I never saw anything like it.
Well needless to say, I never moved so fast in my life!
OK next! |

Who wouldn't`t like fishing.... its my best passing time in the world !
I always love fishing, even as a small girl I was going with my father for a fishing trips. Unfortunately my husband don`t like fishing at all, so I don`t get to fish as often as I wish anymore. But I have been going to deep see fishing in Florida couple of times, and always have nice catches there. My last fishing trip was to Big Bear Lake in California.Nothing special maybe, but I got 12 fishes in 3 hour we were there,so not bad for mountain lake. My biggest cutch ever was in Seven Lakes in NY ,where I was fishing 4 AM, my friends were sleeping and I went by myself. When I saw big fish jumping in the middle of the lake I was dreaming to get here and minute later there she was at the end of my fishing pool ! I woke up all my friends to show them and we all had nice breakfast from this one fish ! |

Fished quite a bit as a kid with my dad and brother, but no great stories and never was a big fan of it...found it boring. But this past summer my brother, my 8 year old son, Raven (my sorta 4 year old daughter) and I went fishing while at Camp Courage where my brother works every summer. It was Raven's first time fishing and she was catching everything! It was a real joy to see how excited and happy she was. My brother and I told her it was a tradition to kiss the first fish you ever caught in your life so she did....right on the fish lips! Only problem was Scotty was really upset with all the attention she was getting so we spent some time helping him catch a few to make him feel better. |

Across the lake the skyline was kissed by the jagged spruce and pine treeline that surrounded the lake and gave you a feeling of complete serenity. The surface of the lake was as still and motionless and clear, as though the whole lake was a sheet of glass. The mirror image of the magnificent forest displayed itself at the waters edge and gave the impression of a forest growing into the crystal water. In fact, except for the numerous Mayfly skimming the lake surface, the world and all beings appeared to be frozen in time.
And then it happened....the water surface was broken by the splash of a Rainbow Trout unable to resist the morning meal the Mayfly were selflessly offering in the name of nature and food supply. That trout was at least 12 inches long, and although it was not yet aware, I had decided that I would avenge that poor Mayfly, and have that Rainbow in my cast iron frying pan, with a small mess of fiddleheads I had seen sprouting through the spring growth on my way to the lake.
Without a moments hesitation, my flyrod and I became a single unit, a well co-ordinated rythmic fishing machine with only one goal. Grilled rainbow!!!! The trout broke the surface again and grabbed his final meal of Mayfly, only to discover this one didn't taste the same. this one tasted like steel and feathers.....yes he had embedded his mouth on the hook of my flyrod and was finding himself closer and closer to the edge of lake. After a few minutes of very impressive fighting on the trouts part, I dipped my net into the water and retrieved the 12 inch and very fat Rainbow. However...after I freed him from the hooks barbs...I found myself admiring the trout and his valiant effort to stay alive...so much so that I held the trout in the water for a few moments and had to let him free. That night as I dined on campfire style beans and weiners..I marveled at the incredible beauty that surrounded me, and was glad that I didn't have to go fishing for beans or weiners!!!

Ahhhhhhhhhh spookth... how your images stir my mind and all the beautiful peaceful undisturbed places I have seen and been. There is NOTHING like sitting by a mountain lake at the wee hours of the morning watching the fish jump and the air crisp, cool and fresh to breath. Maybe a soft light rain and fog before the sun burns them away. Listening to the sounds of nature instead of car horns and traffice.
How about we go fishing together sometime |

It was on a lake in Yarmouth Nova Scotia where I caught my trophy trout.I was trolling the lake with a good friend of mine, just relaxing and discussing our bowling season when my fishing rod almost left my hands.I was so excited I couldn't remember what to do.Wayne told me to slowly reel in my line, not to rush it for fear of losing my catch. The trout jumped several times and we could see it was a whopper. After about 5 minutes I got him into a dipnet next to the boat. When I got him in we couldn't believe our eyes,it was a 28 inch brown speckled trout.Too bad I don't eat fish, but my wife enjoyed it. |

Hi,
I was about 13 or 14 when a bunch of family members rented cottages one summer for a week...Well had a great time with the exception of going fishing with 3 of my cousins
One of my smart alec cousins was showing off on his casting when WHAM I felt something on the bridge of my nose...would'nt you know it the hook got caught in my nose well I can laugh now but at the time I was just freaking out...thank goodness my father was able to remove it without any serious problems...
And I dont even have a big nose
Good Luck,
sisters |

I have so many fishing stories I could write a book. Growing up as an army brat I have lived in many wonderful places and have been able to experience lakes, rivers and oceans. I have fished all my life.
I belong to an online chat group that fishes. Every year in April we make a week long trip to Alabama to fish together. One year we had 52 people to join in. This was the year that I was pregnant with the "Rascal". Not only did we do alot of fishing, but they all threw me a baby shower too. It was the best time with, good friends, good food and great fishing.
Being the only female in the house (hubby and 4 sons) I have learned to love sports and fishing. One year for Christmas my husband ordered me a custom made rod. My fishing rod has a pink and purple weave on it, it is really beautiful, but the pink and purple does not keep the guys from using it!!
The first 2 weeks of June we travel to Wisconsin to the same lodge, year after year to do some musky fishing. Musky are known as the fish of 10,000 cast, because they are so hard to catch. My best trip ever was the year that I saw my first eagle flying overhead, I saw my first bear in the wild and I caught my first musky. It was only 38 1/2 inches but I will never forget the thrill or the fight.
To me, just being out in nature is great, catching a fish is a bonus. |

It started out as any other saturday fishing trip. My family of 3 and our friends chuck and bea. We had decided to go to sanibal island to fish off the causeway. We would catch speckle trout and some red fish when we fished here in the past, my husband said that this was going to change ! and I had no idea how he was going to be right! We stopped to get our bait which we use shrimp! can you believe this? You live up north and sometimes have a hard time buying shrimp fresh and here we are buying it with no problem to throw back in the water! The person that sold us the bait said that they were catching some good size trout. So this got our hopes up that at least we would not go home empty. We found our spot that we always useand parked the truck. Everybody got out to be the first one in the water . I should explain that when you fish off the causeway you wade in the water so far before you cast out. Well no one was cathing anything after about an hour and we could not figure out why. When all of a sudden I got a bite! I started to reel in and thought that I had lost the fish what ever it was did not feel like it was on any more. Well I got it about 10 feet from the shore when I realized that I still had something,so I asked my son if he could tell what it was. He started to walk towards it and stopped to yell "I think it is a shark" ! Now remember everybody is in the water up to there waist or deeper. I started to walk backout of the water to get what ever I had out of the water. Our friend chuck came over to help me land what ever it was. As he got closer to it he echoed the words "it is a shark"! By now we were starting to get a little crowd coming to look and see. Sure enough it was a 4 foot hammerhead shark! Chuck took some pictures of it and let people touch the "sandpaperfeeling " skin. Then it was time to let it go back in the water. Now My husband and son along with other people were back out in the water trying to catch an even bigger shark than mine. As we got the hook out of the mout it layed on the sand about 2 feet from the water ! We thought it was just going to go right in the water but instead it stayed there,so here we are kinda pushing it and whateverelse we could do to get it back in the water. Not thinking that it was going to make the shark mad! Just as my son and husband started to turn to come in out of the water we got the shark into the water ! You should have seen these two run ontop of the water to avoid that shark! Well tat is my fishing story It is for sure one that I will never foreget, and I hope some day to be able to try and catch another one! |
