During November and December, as well as this month so far, we have gained 62 new members!
NEW MEMBERS, we want to make you feel very much at home! One of the things that means is getting accustomed to our many contests.
So here is a contest just for you only!
As you are getting to know us, we would like to get to know you better, as well. We will be much more likely to provide the kinds of things you like most if we know more about your interests!
In addition, we are so friends-oriented that we are always looking for new friends with whom we can communicate.
This is an easy contest, but you can win many valuable PC points if you enter and have your name drawn from my humidor that will have the name of every contestant.
The only requirements are:
You must post your entry here beneath this post of mine.
Your entry must contain MORE THAN 3 sentences. The more you tell us, the better! (This is your chance to blow your own whistle; or to confess secrets to a group who does not believe in judging others. Really! As a group, we believe that judging is for Someone Else to do, not us.
So: Tell us a little bit about yourself.
IMPORTANT: You must include a statement of what you expect to gain from being a member of the Poker Crushers.
It would also be nice, but it is not required, if you would tell us how and what you learned about us that brought you here.
WELCOME! You are now a PCer! And this contest is JUST FOR YOU as a welcome gift!!!!
You will learn soon just how valuable the PC points you may win are!!!!
Get your entries in before the deadline of January 25, 2007 EST.
Ready. Set. GO!

Hello to everyone at Poker-Crush. It's exciting to finally manage to open an account here. I've had a hard time lol(not very technically gifted ).What I hope to gain by being a member here,is a greater knowledge of how to play Texas Hold-em. I already play and win a fair bit in the sit and go's. It's the little intricacies of the game that I'm interested in learning about. For instance, I'd like to know some instances where the All-In should or should not be used based on the cards in my hand. Should you call an all-in by an overly aggressive player if you know you have the second to the nuts hand....but losing the all-in bet would knock you out of the tourney!! I always struggle with this one LOL.

Hi there, Evergreen! Good to hear from you. WELCOME is the word to you and we all hope you will be happy as a fellow Poker Crusher and as a member of our just-now-getting-started Poker Team!
It sounds like you will be a great asset to the team!
Evergreen, it IS the little intricasies of the game that makes the difference between a consistent winner and a sometimes winner! Everybody knows the basics. It is those intricasies that I concentrate on the most when passing along my knowledge, as a pro player, to my deserving poker scholars here at Poker-Crush.
I hope you can learn from MY experience, instead of having to learn it all in the slower process of the hard way from your personal experience only.
So far, my great PCers here seem to be happy with the untraditional and.....well, kind of......."different" ways I get things across to them from my head into theirs. It seems to be easier to remember than it would be if I just wrote out a series of formal classroom-type lessons. You can find those anywhere, on the net or in the bookstores. I never liked having to learn anything that way, so I figured my Crushers would rather pick up all they need to know in a different way, as well.
Many of my scholars also came to me already knowing a whole lot about how to play the game and I have a lot of respect for what they already know. I simply pass along all those little intricasies you speak of that I have had to figure out along the path of my career in order to make a living doing what I love to do.
Now. The thing you say always gives you trouble, never should. If you know you have the second to the nuts hand, it doesn't matter how aggressive the player who goes all in is.
Just look at it this way: If you have 100% for sure the second best hand you could have at that time, the odds that someone else will have the actual nuts is x-1, where x = the number of players who still have not folded minus 1, yourself. From that point of view, the decision should be an easy one. It will be the right decision 9 times out of 10. That's enough for great consistency.
May your wins keep coming more often!

You are too brainy for this, mirrors34!
The directions were clear. New members were those who joined in Nov, Dec, and Jan.
You joined in October 2006. Sorry, but like most of us, you are an old member! LOL!
By the way, sometime when you have an extra minute or two, please do me the favor of finishing your profile page. You must have been in a hurry to get here the day you joined. I hope so!
Be sure you have a couple of notebooks, too. It will make things much easier for you, and you are already doing so well here!
Later, gator.
