Hello Crushers:
Our lessons room, even tho we have been predominately using "Poker Guru Presents" for poker discussions, seems an appropriate place from which to send you this latest news.
Only 9 players are left as of today, Thursday, August 10, 2006.
The final table begins today at 2:30 this afternoon PST in Las Vegas at the Rio!
The champion will win the gold bracelet I wanted so badly to bring home to you Crushers plus $12 million.
The other eight players are guarenteed to win more than a million and a half dollars!
The leading contender of this moment is an online player! Jamie Gold is a pro, but is a big surprise to be leading in the WSOP!
One of the online sites at which Jamie plays sponsored him for the tournament, along with about 400 other players at the site.
Many online poker sites offer YOU the opportunity to be in this coming year's WSOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This latest news has been brought to you from:
A loser in the first round of the Big Event (but at least I made it as far as the WSOP and qualified!) but still happy and playing well = Your PokerGuru
P.S. I am so sorry I was not able to bring the championship home to you, my wonderful Crushers. Maybe next year, eh? |

Dearest Beckie and ORANGE CRUSH.........
I don't even mind admitting that when I read your posts here, I had to brush away a tear or two.
The only thing that could make me happier than winning the WSOP championship is to have some of my Crushers in it with me!
Just think! What if we could sweep 'em?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you, my loyal friends.

ORANGE CRUSH
You all never cease to amaze me!
Darrin, you keep up with the poker world very insightfully!
I think you probably have figured out that is the one thing that will make me reveal my identity! So I might as well go ahead here and now and make you this promise: The very next time I win the WSOP the first thing I will announce in the winner's interview is that I am the PokerGuru from Poker-Crush Forums and Portal.
Sincerely!
YOUR PokerGuru |

Dearest Mojo,
Your words so humble me, tho they are new precious treasures to me.
But believe me, Mojo, I am nothing special (other than being a Crusher!).
I'm just one more good-looking guy who found out early in life that good looks plus a dollar will buy you a cup of coffee and not much more......so I had to learn to use every ounce of brain power I could muster to prove to myself I could make it, no matter what "it" might be, if I was willing to dedicate myself to learning just a little more about it than the guy next to me.
Once that was done, the next step was easy in comparison: learn just a little more than the guy at the top.
That is how I discovered the shocking truth about poker that I have abided by and will swear to till this very day......and it is my #1 secret to making a good living playing poker: KNOWING THAT POKER AND LUCK HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER. It is learned knowledge of the game and practiced skills of that knowledge that makes a consistent winner.
Anything else, if it happens, is just a one shot deal, a soon died out flash in the pan. Only knowledge goes on and on without end and even has the possibility and probability of growing greater with time......to anyone who is willing to keep learning.
It stops and becomes stagnant only for someone who believes he has learned it all. Better he should have learned nothing at all. A LITTLE knowledge truly IS a dangerous thing.
I didn't mean to turn this into a lesson, but there you have it. The whole ball of wax. And yet such a simple truth.
That is why I never wish a poker player "Good Luck"! I wish a real poker player only what he really needs, "Good Thinking"!
Thank you, Mojo, and all all my faithful poker scholars. And Good Thinking to you Always!
Your PokerGuru |
