Treat every betting round as if it were the first. Try to forget the previous betting rounds and the money you have contributed to the pot! To have your mind on trying to make up what you have lost is a sure way to lose more!

Sound advice Guru. One question:What % of your stack would already be in the pot to consider yourself what they call pot-committed?

Good question, Bower! Now I have a siily one......once you committed to a hand by auto-blind, should you attempt to at least play what you are dealt as long as no one else bids?

Only as long as you don't have to add more to the pot if your hand is poor, Nana.

And ..... Personally, I have never and still don't believe in ever being "pot-committed"!!! My position on it has served me well.

Also personally, I believe that whole idea was spun out by the casinos for the purpose of more rake profit.

ok, I did not make myself entirely clear. I meant, stay and see what the flop reveaaled, as long as no-one upped the ante. I have done that holding a 5,2 and still gotten a good hand out of it..lol But in general, is it a good idea to stay in?

I agree, as long as it doesn't cost ya to see. I, have done that thinking my 2 pairs would win, to find out someone has a pair of 7's in hand, with River 7. Sad

Only cost me $100 that time....but, it was a lesson I have remembered!!
