This should be an easy $30 for whoever wins this contest.
There may be big PC points awarded also for good answers!
To win the $30 cash prize, you must have a certified Neteller account so we can pay you. And you must have 3000 PC points. If you do not have the 3000 points, you will be awarded the 3000 points instead of $30 so you will have them the next time you win a cash prize.
DEADLINE: September 27, 2006
AND HERE IT IS: Make a post, telling us what, if anything, surprised you in the first lesson of POKER LESSONS 202, presented on Saturday, September 16, 2006.
Good thinking to all Poker Crushers!

Hello Poker Guru :-)
A few things surprised me....the first being I have never even thought to look at the statisics provided at the tables...(flop % ect.) Great advice!! Second..I have never thought about the fact that if you are playing at smaller tables most of it goes to the house!!! and third... I NEVER phathomed that two people sitting at my table would be on the phone or in a chat room!! I don't know why that never occured to me!!! You gave great advice!! Now I hope I can continue to play on line being that I live in the U.S.A :-(
Good luck everyone in the contest :-)

It is a lesson that gets everyone on the right track to start off.I'm in the process of forgetting a lot of the things I use to do and not do.{not em all tho
A coupla things surprised me but you're explanation of them make perfect sense.I never liked playing Pot Limit because it's harder to scare players out of the hand like an all in would, stopping them from drawing for a straight, flush etc.
The other point was the Flop percentages.High percentages definitely show a tendency towards loose playing{Yummy Yummy}
Our very own personal pro Guru tells it all with the risk of losing a huge pot to one of us some day because of his generosity. He wouldn't be disappointed with losing, rather he would be proud as a peacock that he taught us and the knowledge stayed with us.

Well I have to say the biggest surprise for me was to play Pot Limits. I find that most of the other things you said to do I already do but I usually am a No Limit Player. So it may not seem much to be surprised about but that was my biggest surprise LOL |

The biggest surprise to me was the flop percentages. I like playing a lot of flops myself when the blinds are small so maybe I play too loose myself, but I try to be disciplined and get out right away if I don't hit on the flop--usually I net more money in the long run playing a lot of flops early and building my chip stack for when the blinds get bigger and often you can trap weaker players and double up once or twice early on. |

Very Surprized about the 10 seater
I always thought every table had an ante..so I went to 10 seat table and wowsers... no ante....just big blind and small blind.
The next surprize was Pot Size ..... The reason you look for the largest average pot size is because that tells you the players are playing very loosely.
very good lesson ...if I may say....lesson 202 rocks baby

I liked the pot limit as i always seem to do so much better with a limit but as far as the 10 seater i seem to lose the sit and gos at 10 seats versus 6 seats. i would say 7 out of 10 times i hit first or second in 6 seats and 2 out of 10 in a 10 seater so i guess ill just practice playing 10 seats ....ty poker guru |

Not surprised because I had already been given this advise previously by our esteemed Poker Guru. Well, except for the collusion part; but I've always been wary of that. Following the steps outlined by the Guru is extremely helpful indeed!

I used to look for tables with fewer people..say 6 or 7 ..... sitting because I figured it increased my odds.....but after considering the Blinds coming around less often I guess the full tables make perfect sense!!!From now on its full tables for me!! |

Hi kids! (Take no offense at this, please. I'm just copying one of OC's habits. LOL)
Thought I would just put in a word here to let you know we WILL discuss your concerns raised by the first lesson of Poker 202, as soon as this contest is over.
I AM reading them all. Just holding off commenting until the proper time.
