Dearest Crushers ~

The best laid plans of mice and men......etc, etc....

So sorry I am later than planned in getting back to you. I just hope that what I have been busy gathering up for you will be good enough for you to excuse my lateness. I am working on getting right down to the nitty-gritty of exactly which hands to hold and which to fold, and other things of that nature. Things that should advance you rapidly.

If this will be of interest to you, please let me know. Sometimes it's kinda hard to know exactly what to offer you when you don't respond or ask any questions. I'm sure you understand.

One thing you can always count on: I will NOT put out there just anything for the purpose of just saying I posted. I have to feel sure it will really be a big help to you.

So I am hoping it will be late and usable by you instead of on time but not worth much.

Time will tell. And if time doesn't, I'm sure there are those of you who will! LOL Love my outspoken say-what-they-mean CRUSHERS!

Hope to "see" you here very soon now!

YOUR devoted and true-to-my-word

AND i may even come up with a few questions.... though am intriqued with the thought of knowing which hands are the ones when more often than not should fold. sounds like a lot of work, well to me, its not like second nature as im sure it is with you. or did you study before you went pro?

glad i saw your post!! appreciated by Crushers patiently awaiting your posts. Wink such as me....so thank you for your time.

DearCrusher notLOL,

Thank you so much for your quick response! I came back here to see who all would really be interested in a "What to hold/What to fold" article. I didn't really expect anyone to have found the post yet, since we are ALL moving a little (or a lot) too slowly in trying to get a really good start here with Poker-Crush.

Hopefully, I will get some feedback from others as well!

You are really quite perceptive, dear girl. You hit the nail on the head about things being second nature or not! That is the VERY REASON it seems to be a lotmof work to me ...... simply because I have done it for so long and now I am doing my very best to take myself back to when I was first learning these very things and am trying to remember what helped me the most. So thank you for helping to keep me on track!

And most of all......thank you for being at least as understanding of my problems as I try to be of yours!

Ido a bit of observing at various online sites and I am happy to tell you that I am very excited to see that all Crushers seem to be doing much better as time goes along......even those who , in my opinion, could handle some "tough love" advice.....which indeed was the case!!

Learning......no matter how.......is so very exciting, isn't it? Perhaps that is one big thing that seperates the best from the rest!

Sincerely appreciative,

PokerGuru

PokerGuru... I am extremely new to poker, and I can definitely use all the tips I can get about when to hold when to fold from your Guruness:D I will definitely be reading your posts.
I do have a question on the hole in texas holdem...
I seem to have a decent knack for what to hold and bet on and what to fold... but I'm not advancing as fast as I would like. I know that I get hole cards that I should really wager on, but I am just not sure about how to wager and still keep others in. I play with the ppl all the time, that go all in, on their hole cards and most ppl fold. And if they win on the hole bet... they really only get the blinds. Can you give me advice about what pairs of cards I should hold, check, and bet on, on the hole deal and how to bet enough or when to be conservative? Thanks!!!

Dear Crusher TammyNC,

First, I just have to tell you how much I like your signature line! It is so true! And I guess that you and I will never get old, huh?! Sounds good to me!

You know, I really like this one-on-one "talk". I can be sure to hit on what you need this way!

First, let me say, I am so happy to have someone who really wants to learn to be a GOOD poker player! And if at all in my power, I will help YOU see that goal come to life quicker than you may think.

Your questions are being addressed in the article I am in the midst of writing now for my next feature post. I hope you will gain from it enough to have a MUCH better idea of "when to hold'em, when to fold'em. Will try to get to betting limits also, but if not this week, I will definitely include it next week.

Thank you so much, Tammy, for your kind response. Such questions and explanations of where you stand individually help me so much in deciding what to write about!

Your attitude makes me proud!

Thank you so much PokerGuru... I will definitely be reading your writings of wisdom! I am enjoying poker very much, I really only got into playing because of my best friend's love for the GAME, but after a few tournaments I can see why! I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not, but I have been trying to learn all of the different versions available. I am hard to keep still, lol. And I figure being new, then I am as of yet not religated to one style, and that it might be useful to be flexible. Your thoughts on that? Well, I will be busy reading, lol, and playing! Thank you so much for your personal words Very Happy and yep, we shall be young and playing for quite some time, hehe.

lol Sun... we'll tag team our Guru! Glad that we can help ask questions that both of us, and probably many others need answers to. And it's very much appreciated to have someone willing to share their vast knowledge and playing tips and advice with us! I try to read the how-to books on things, but a lot of it never gets thru, it's so much more educational to have an interactive Q & A and a personal touch that makes information more absorbable. Hope we have the opportunity to put his tips and advice to work at the same table soon! Very Happy

Dearest Tammy and sunspun,

How happy you make me! And you can bet I will be eager as a beaver to give you as much personal attention as you need to make sure YOU YOURSELVES make winners out of yourselves. That is something I cannot do for you......I can only serve as a tool to help. And I am glad to.

As for the two of you tag-teaming me......that gave me a great big hearty laugh because I enjoy just the thought, and even more the reality!

I know exactly what you mean about the education of the winning poker player. There is so much available, but just like tasting everything when you are not really hungry, NOTHING hits the spot BECAUSE it knows nothing about you and your needs and is so impersonal!

I can only promise this: Don't worry! My instincts tell me that both of you are destined to be "naturals"!

As for your question about trying all or what......I would definitely advise you to stick to one game at first. And the game where all the money is being made now......the game that is sweeping the world of poker......is No Limit Texas Hold'em. That is all I personally am playing now.

And what I do......I suggest you do the same!

Does that answer your question well enough?

Love to you both,

Your PokerGuru

My Dear Guruness...
That's what I needed to hear! I will put aside the other meanderings into the poker world and focus on Tex Holdem. It was the first one I learned and I have had interesting results, and I've only been playing for about 3 weeks, and have already cashed in several tournaments...wow, lol. Today, I entered the PL 1000$ 1pm freeroll and was at about 2000th out of 12000+ entrants, when I got a JJ on the hole... and called, and then someone went all-in, and they'd been doing it for a while... and I was really getting tired of having to fold my GOOD hands for that all-in mess Mad ... so I called them... and sure enough, they didn't have a pair, had a K,A offsuit and got the dang A on the river..... boohoo Crying or Very Sad . I'm hoping you will tell me how to deal with these kinds of tables and players... so I don't hang myself like this. I just get frustrated when I KNOW I have a good hand... and have seen same persons's all-in w/ not-so-good hands Evil or Very Mad ... and I guess I end up short tempered and call them. Embarassed

Thank you soooooooooooooo much for taking your time to talk to us, I check my inbox and go YAY! Very Happy when I see a reply to this topic, hehe. And, I promise not to jump/tag ya when ur holding 10,J,Q,A of spades and looking for the K... Razz

Send the Poker fairies my way!!!

Love from Your Guruness's groupie...
