OK, hey! 3DPoker's been pretty good to me lately!
Got a couple little wins, nothing big, just enough to make me think I might be learning something here! (And also just enough to send me off to the blackjack table where I end up losing most of it - can their BJ games be rigged?)
Actually, I just saw my balance and I haven't really lost _that_ much of it back -- yet!...
This was a first place win for $2.27, but there were only 7 people in it to start. Which was just the way I wanted it, because I had never played in one of these before - called "Lightning Tourney 50 Cent Buy-In" - "lightning" meaning it runs faster than normal, a LOT faster, I thought... the blinds go up every TWO MINUTES. It's fast. So if you don't win right off the bat, the blinds will eat you alive before u get a chance to do anything.
I don't think I'll keep playing in these fast ones. Too much like potluck in some ways.
But this one wasn't so bad! (first picture)
And then I went ahead and played ONE more of the lightning ones after that, even though it had more people in it, I think it was about 25 or 30.
I won! I forget how much it was; tried to look it up, but i waited too long, and it's moved off the tourney list already. Must have been about $6 something. (2nd picture)
And then the other day, I won a 50 cent buy-in, 1st place prize $5! I wish I'd made note of how many players, but I didn't... but these are all real small ones that I played, if I paid anything to get in, I mean. Very small, this one I'm sure was less than 25 players. I don't want to buy into any that have more than that. (3rd picture)
And then last but not least, there was a $1.50 BuyIn with a total prize of $30 for the top 3 winners, and I squeaked through that one in 3rd place, for a $6 prize! (4th and final picture)

Hi Sunspun,
May I say I love your name, it is wonderful,
Firstly, I am so glad to see that you are in such fine form, well done, there are no ' Big Time Charlie's ' here on PC and I would value all your win's just as much, if not more, than you do yourself, they are excellent, each and every one, and yes it must be true, you are becoming a better poker player, you have just shown us the proof. We believe it, so should you.
I'm sorry to wine on and on but we both share a common weakness for spending our hard earned winnings at the Blackjack table. I am a sucker for it and also a loser. I've promised myself many time's that I will never to play again, finally I think I've learned my expensive lesson you must also do the same and never ever go back again, not even for one single minimum staked hand, go on Sunspun, make us all a promise, that you will never play again.
All internet Blackjack IS rigged, it is rigged to always pay the house a little more than it pays the player, so unless you have played and won just a handful of game's, then walked away with your winning's, you will in the longrun, become a loser. Make us all that promise
I SUNSPUN, MAKE THIS PROMISE TO MY PC FRIEND'S THAT I WILL NEVER SPEND MY HARD EARNED WINNING'S ON THE BLACKJACK TABLE EVER AGAIN.
PS I'm not much of a gambling man but I bet I've lost more than you lololol
Your pc friend
Alan |

Well now! I must say I have just witnessed some mighty dramatic posts and pictures!
ALW is right about the house advantage, but, Buddy of mine, I don't think we can call it "rigged". That is just the nature of the Blackjack game, no matter who the dealer or establishment may be. That is why, I presume, there is at least one spot on the net where you can be the dealer. But that is not nearly as much fun.
Here is the way I look at playing blackjack: I compare it to going out for an evening of entertainment or recreation that I rally enjoy. In fact, everything we go out to do for recreation or entertainment value, alone or with a date, gives us rason to make sure our wallets are in our pockets, eh? We know such an evening is going to cost us. So the question becomes: How much is that enjoyment worth to me? More than the cost of dinner, a theatre, snacks and drinks? And maybe flowers as well? It's all in how you look at it.
But one thing is certain: there is no such thing as a professional blackjack player, unless it is one with a horrendous debt!
Now, setting blackjack aside, I must have a very important word with our Sunspun (and I agree that she has a very beautiful name). Sunspun, you are winning consistently. The amount of money is not what is important in poker. The thing all successful pros have in common is consistency in winning a certain percentage of games more than the losing ones.
With that in mind, I have to tell you, Sunspun, that if you can play the same way and keep your mind off of how much money is involved, you can have the same winning percentage at higher limit tables! THAT IS A FACT! The only thing you have to remember is to be sure to keep playing the way you play -- the way you have learned pays off. If you don't change a thing about your game except the dollar value, your percentage of wins will remain the same!
Do you get the main idea of what I am telling you, Player? In my opinion, you are ready!
I have always taught to keep focused on playing your hand right and not to even think about the chips in the pot. If you can master that discipline at all times, then, dear Sunspun, it is time for another one of our PCers to think seriously about playing professionally.
Several Poker Crushers are ready in every way except confidence. You are one of them. I think ALW will agree, eh Alan?
And the confidence question should be easily settled just by looking at the numbers in your playing record!
Congratulations, Sunspun. Your record is very impressive!
We all can and do keep improving as we keep learning more, including myself. As we learn more, we must also keep reviewing what we have already mastered. We can forget nothing. And as long as we do it that way.......learning more new and reviewing all old, we can only become better and better.
The question then that several of my scholars must ask themselves is: When is good .....good enough? The answer is as easy as adding 2 plus 2: When our percentage of winning consistently keeps making our wallets fatter. How much fatter? That depends only on the tables at which you choose to sit!
Your very proud PokerGuru |
